Atlas Fire Security

When Atlas Fire & Security recently completed the installation of 5 gaseous fire suppression systems in Belfast, atbec ltd were appointed to carry out the testing.

To satisfy the requirements of NFPA2001 standards, each enclosure should be tested and the retention time measured. The results should
demonstrate that in the event of a fire, when the system discharges, the gas is retained within the enclosure for a minimum of 10minutes, therefore affording
the contents an element of protection.
‘With their experience in the field and having the required level of security clearance, atbec were the natural choice for this scheme’
according to Graeme White of Atlas Fire & Security. ‘Having worked with the team previously we were confident that the tests would be completed in a timely
and efficient fashion’
As is often the case in such installations, with the large number of penetrations passing through the enclosure, a programme of remedial works was necessary in order to get the rooms to the required retention time. Once the sealing works were completed, the rooms were tested and reports issued to the client.
If you are responsible for the design of such a room, please contact Mike Crotty on 07545 456175 who will be happy to send you our Room Integrity troubleshooting sheet.
